Our School caters for everyone .

We feel anyone could benefit from what we do although some people may not be able to do every technique.

A person is only limited if they allow a limitation to suffocate them. Many people find that they can overcome many limitations in our classes. It is true to say that a Martial Arts class is a miniature Universe where a person confronts their every fear.

How can a person fail to feel confident when they have already faced their fears?

Childrens Costs:

We are a non profit making voluntary organisation so all funds go back into the School. For this reason we keep costs to a minimum and also have a policy that if a Family is experiencing financial difficulty we can waive fees as long as a Parent lets us know.

We ask when possible for a term fee which is usually 3 months of lessons divided by £2 per lesson.(please note we encourage Term fees)  The fee can also be paid Monthly if 3 Months is a bit of a stretch financially .People must be aware that the reason we keep costs to a minimum is that Instructors do not get paid for their work and we must ensure that people are coming to class to pay the running costs.

If we feel we are being taken advantage of we reserve the right to remove a person from the class register who may then have to re-apply for a place in class. This usually happens when a person is not seen in class for a while without notification.

Adults Costs: Lessons are £3 employed £2 unemployed or Student.

Class details:

Little Dragons class learn through play but do not tend to grade for belts until reaching the next class. Childen in this early stage class build up their natural abilities such as hand/eye co-ordination, balance, visual perception, reactions and normal body co-ordination but in an enjoyable fun way along with life skills. Chilren can earn Credits and upon reaching 10 can swap them for a t-shirt, trophy, dvd, cinema tickets, drinks bottle or kit bag. We also give out badges for many different reasons such as good behaviour, bedroom tidy or any reason where a coach or Instructor feels a child may have excelled or tried their best.

Junior Beginners class much like the High Grade Class have more of a structured way of learning with lesson plans and children working towards the objective of getting a new grade every 6 Months. If a Child cannot get to the next stage they simply have their grade frozen to give more time to learn what is needed unless a child knows another technique needed above what they already know. A child will know when they need to learn skills as they will be advised on a grade mark sheet which is given after the grading along with a report with information from Coaches and Instructors. A forthcoming grade freeze could be forecast during the grading allowing a child time to learn what is needed for the next grading. The Instructor will also have a copy of the report to look at before the next grading to ensure each child has corrected any mistakes or followed the Instructors advice there is also a place on the grade sheet for students to give feedback to us such as what they like doing, what they would like to learn more of or where they think they need to work harder. Techniques in this class are limited to blocks, breakfalls, basic strikes/kicks and sweeping along with basic grappling/ground fighting and forms/patterns. To add to these basic levels of technique we also have life skills within each class which include basic first aid, a childs place within a community, anti bullying, stranger danger etc . We also add in Martial arts History,Geography, other Civilisations etc. Children in this class can practice for a badge from the MBI Merit Badge System after class. If passed each badge cost 70p if not the Child keeps practicing until able to pass. Some badges are given for free for good behaviour, respect etc.

Junior High Grades classes are structured the same way as the low grades but with more emphasis on honing technique and learning a higher level of technique including throws, flying kicks, flips, demo techniques basic weaponry and also more in depth knowledge of Chi and the functions of the body including organs.Students are also taught the differences of the systems within what we do to distinguish the different arts. At Blue Belt students work towards the Junior Black Belt as well as the written exam with questions taken from the lessons, history, geography and also the various martial arts they have practiced as well as anatomy. The pass rate for the Junior Black Belt exam is 70% any less is a re-test 6 Months later.

Adults:  Adults classes take on board all facets of life involving combat that a person may be faced with including multiple and weapon attacks.
